AMD purple annodized shims go through 4 manufacturing processes before they are complete and are annodized, so they don't conduct electricity.

They fit ALL AMD Socket A based processor cores, including Athlon, Duron, Palomino, Athlon XP's, MP's and Thoroughbred cores.

CPU spacers prevent cracking of CPU cores while installing the heatsink, and help distribute weight evenly over the core surface. Think of them as cheap insurance for the overclocker who changes cooling solutions frequently.

These spacers are even thickness and precision manufactured to fit perfectly while also allowing the factory 'pads' on AMD Athlon/Duron/Palomino CPU's to remain intact.
