The MC14 BGA ramsinks is now shipped with Thermattach T411 tape for superior adhesion to the memory modules.

These ramsinks can be distinguished from other offerings by the fact that the pin spacing is specially adapted for convective cooling. For example, skived copper ramsinks offered by other manufacturers have their fins spaced relatively close to each other, which is not optimum for convection cooling. Effective convection cooling requires a good amount of space to allow the heated air to circulate freely between fins/pins.
